I recently spent time exploring what really works for sharing design portfolios. My initial choice for hosting my work turned out to be far too restrictive for my needs. It produced very little genuine interest from potential clients. A big lesson was how important it is to show work in its intended setting.

A thorough breakdown of portfolio strategies appears in https://dribbble.com/.

When I narrowed down to only finished projects the response was night and day. I also learned to break down each project into the problem, my process, and the final result. Overloading the page with too many examples actually diluted my strongest pieces. Removing the weak ones was hard at first but it instantly improved the impression.

I had a senior colleague scan my curated picks and she pointed out what to drop. Their advice pushed me to include case studies rather than just final images. Their critique helped me reframe the whole display as a problem-solving showcase.

The final setup shows only eight projects but each one tells a complete story. Removing distracting transitions helped viewers concentrate on what matters. My recommendation to anyone starting out is begin with a brutal edit.
